I recently made my way around the Sonterra neighborhood in San Antonio, and I was really surprised by how many people I met had really wonderful smiles and almost perfect teeth. And I noticed this, no matter if I was at HEB, Wildfish,Yardley’s, or Costco. Now, to be fair, I also noticed some people who were in need of some dental services as well.So I started wondering about this, being a cosmetic dentist myself for Sonterra area residents, what motivated all these people to get dental care to have such beautiful smiles.Thinking about this, led me to make a video to show what we do in our office for area residents. You will find a link to it at the bottom of this article.And I recalled some of the comments and motivations that my patients have told me about over the 30 years since I began practice as a cosmetic dentist.My patients in the area are to a large extent upper class professionals who are competing for jobs and relationships with other upper class residents and professionals.

Cosmetic Dentist for Deerfield San Antonio TX – Calming a Parent Worried About Teeth Braces for Children

It’s generally accepted that a smile is the most universal greeting for anyone you meet in the entire world. International advertisers such as Coca-Cola had a slogan in 1979: “Have a Coke and a smile” and McDonalds had one in 2000: “We love to see you smile.”

As a cosmetic dentist for the Deerfield San Antonio Texas area, a lot of parents in the neighborhood ask me about their children’s teeth and whether they should get braces for their teeth and what kind is best.

In these consultations with parents, it’s apparent that they are worried about this dilemma and they realize that it’s advisable many times from a cosmetic dentistry standpoint to have their children’s teeth corrected with some form of teeth braces. More importantly, parents want what’s best for their children to have all the advantages to grow up with a fair chance to succeed in the world as we know it today.

Over my 30 years of practice, I’ve watched how children are expected to be better and better compared to other children. The children feel the pressure from their peers. Their parents feel the pressure from other parents. It’s part of a society game of who is going to be better than someone else, and by how much. So naturally, straight teeth and a beautiful smile eventually get put into the equation for this “excellence standard.”

There are many aspects of how a child grows up to be a “successful” personality. From a cosmetic dentistry standpoint, I can tell you what I have observed over the years about straight teeth and beautiful smile makeovers for children or adults. There is a direct correlation to a person’s self esteem and their beautiful smile with straight teeth. Period. When our patients finish their cosmetic dental program, they report that they feel transformed to an area of “perfection” – at least with their smile.

This goes a long way when people are trying to get noticed, get liked, get attention, and so on as they are interacting with others in their life, whether it’s for personal or business reasons.

For all these important reasons, I like to spend time with a person when they come to me to discuss the very important subject of teeth and beautiful smiles. It is critical to the patient to get everything discussed and all their questions answered. And this has to be done correctly from the beginning.

Dr. Swearingen grew up in Northern California. He went through high school in Red Bluff and graduated from the University of California at San Francisco Dental School in 1975.

In order to be an even better dentist, he followed that with an optional residency program at Balboa Hospital in San Diego. He then practiced family dentistry in the U.S. Navy for four years while stationed at Atsugi, Japan on a US Naval Air Base.

In 1980, he began his civilian career in Citrus Heights and has been practicing there ever since. Dr. Swearingen has developed a flourishing dental practice founded on providing dental care of the highest quality. He has always far exceeded all requirements for continuing education and in recent years has taken numerous courses at the world-renowned Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies. As a result, he has established himself as one of a select group of dentists in Northern California able to provide state-of-the-art cosmetic procedures.

During this consultation, he will take a mold of your teeth that will be sent to the dental lab for your custom designed porcelain veneers. In some situations, Dr. Swearingen may provide you with a temporary set of veneers while yours are being designed.

When your custom porcelain veneers are ready, usually in about two weeks, Dr. Swearingen will use a dental bonding agent to adhere the ultra-thin veneers to your own teeth. You will have the beautiful, sparkling smile you dreamed of.

Dr. Swearingen grew up in Northern California. He went through high school in Red Bluff and graduated from the University of California at San Francisco Dental School in 1975.

In order to be an even better dentist, he followed that with an optional residency program at Balboa Hospital in San Diego. He then practiced family dentistry in the U.S. Navy for four years while stationed at Atsugi, Japan on a US Naval Air Base.

In 1980, he began his civilian career in Citrus Heights and has been practicing there ever since. Dr. Swearingen has developed a flourishing dental practice founded on providing dental care of the highest quality. He has always far exceeded all requirements for continuing education and in recent years has taken numerous courses at the world-renowned Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies. As a result, he has established himself as one of a select group of dentists in Northern California able to provide state-of-the-art cosmetic procedures.

Dr. Swearingen is a member of the American Dental Association,California Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. He is also an accredited member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (916) 966-1175 as well as a member of the Sacramento District Dental Society.
Dr. Swearingen resides with his wife, Robyn, in Granite Bay, California. They enjoy many activities together and are loyal Sacramento Kings fans. They especially enjoy their relationships with their children and grandchildren.
Dr. Swearingen enjoys his profession tremendously and often says he “would do it for nothing if it were possible”.
